We are nearly back to normal, but not quite. The most important rule that is still being enforced is that we limit contact between student and healthcare staff in our hospital. This means that students are not yet allowed back into the hospital. Also, It’s still important to self-test frequently. |

Self-tests available at MFAS |
|
|
|
We are happy to be able to make use of the faculty again. To continue to do so in the most safe way possible, there are (free) self-tests handed out in the MFAS room. This room is located in the hallway on the right to the Albert Heijn to- go store on the J-square. Opening hours are from 9.00 am till 17.00 on week days. Hopefully we’ll see you there. |

| Prof. dr. Hans van Goudoever will be Dean of the Medical Faculty of the UvA. Van Goudoever will succeed prof.dr. Hans Romijn who will be retiring. Van Goudoever studied medicine at the Erasmus University in Rotterdam and specialized in Pediatrics and Neonatology. |

Virtual Study Abroad Fair, Saturday, 30th of October |
|
|
|
The UvA Study Abroad Fair will be held online this year on Saturday 30 October. During this event, you'll be introduced to the opportunities the UvA offers to spend a part of your studies abroad. Although the coronavirus still presents challenges for student mobility in 2021-2022, the UvA and her partners haven't been sitting around. Preparations for the Erasmus and Global Exchange Programme that started in September 2022, are in full swing.
Join the Study Abroad Fair and learn about exchange programmes, internships and research abroad, summer schools and various other programmes (including virtual experiences) that can provide you with an international learning experience. The event starts with an energetic kick-off at 12 pm on Saturday 30 October. The International office of the Amsterdam UMC hospital will be joining in. How about you? |

Presentation annual plan Student Council on October 26th. |

|
The Student Council (SR) will present the annual report on the 26th of October at 15:00 in classroom 2. Students are welcome to join this event! The Student Council will be focussing on communication, transparency from the SR and on the mental health of students. They will also be imagining a post Covid 19 world. What would we like to take with us from this period and what do we want to leave behind as soon as possible? |

Study in the UK |
|
|
|
Are you interested in studying abroad and would you like to improve your English? Information can be found here: Study UK: the essentials, geared towards (future) students who are interested in studying in England. In the week from October 4 till October 8 several webinar will be organized around this theme. At least 51 universities from the UK are represented. |

The student counsellors can be reached on Tuesdays between 11-13, as well as Thursdays between 11-13 for quick questions by phone ( 020-5664779). More information can be found on the A-Z list by clicking on Student counsellors. An appointment with the study adviser can be made online. |
