Dear [firstname] [prefix] [surname],
Welcome to the third newsletter from Amsterdam University College for incoming students! As it becomes clearer what form teaching will take in September, we can now offer insight into what to expect when you arrive on campus. On top of that, this newsletter also includes a recording of the webinar on housing, an introduction to the new board of the AUC Student Association for 2021-2022, a video from one of your future classmates on TikTok and information about taking languages at AUC.
Kind regards,
Nora McLeese Benjamin Garstka Marcus Smit AUC Services & Communications Team

The Dutch Ministry of Education, Culture and Science will issue a definitive recommendation in July regarding what education will look like in the Autumn. As it stands now, Amsterdam University College, along with the University of Amsterdam (UvA) and the Vrije Unviersiteit (VU) Amsterdam, are operating under the assumption that all teaching activities will resume on campus at the start of the academic year in September.
Since the AUC academic building operationally functions under the UvA, their regulations will be what guides AUC in terms of on-campus activities. As such, free voluntary self-tests will remain available for those who are not vaccinated and face masks will most likely still be required for moving around certain parts of campus.

On 9 June, AUC hosted a webinar about housing and practical matters related to room selection and moving into the student residences. If you missed it or would like to watch it again, you can find the recording via the link below.

At AUC we strongly believe that learning languages is a very important asset in the Liberal Arts and Sciences context. You will take at least two courses on the same language, choosing from Arabic, German, Dutch, Spanish, French and Chinese. The language you study will open up doors to new worlds and cultures, and it will connect with many of the themes you will study in other courses at AUC. You will hear more about the languages during Introduction Week but you can already start thinking now about what to choose.
