Congratulations on accepting your offer to study at Amsterdam University College and we are delighted to welcome you to the AUC community!
In order to help you make the most of the months before starting at AUC, we will be keeping you up-to-date on what's going on around campus, what you can expect from us over the summer and some practical steps you can take to make your transition to university life as smooth as possible!
We will be sending you monthly newsletters containing "nice-to-know" information until AUC Introduction Week starts at the end of August. Essential "need-to-know" procedures and policies, such as enrolment and submitting course preferences, will be communicated to you by our Admissions Officee.

Prof. Dr. Martin van Hees is the Dean of AUC and he would like to share the following message with members of the incoming Class of 2025: "Many congratulations to you on accepting your offer to the Liberal Arts and Sciences programme at AUC! Together with students from all over the world, you will join an active and vibrant academic community. We know you must be excited to begin this new journey and we are very much looking forward to welcoming you in Amsterdam in August."

Housing selection for prospective students who accepted their offer on or before 1 May will occur in the month of June. Below is a timeline of when you may expect the room selection to open per group, based on which deadline you applied to: either Early bird deadline or Regular deadline.
Early bird applicants:
Friday, 3 June – Monday, 7 June: Activate your account and view available rooms
Wednesday, 8 June - Friday 10 June: Select your room
Regular applicants:
Friday, 10 June – Monday, 13 June: Activate your account and view available rooms
Monday, 13 June - Friday, 17 June: Select your room
After you sign the housing contract and pay first month of rent (August) as a deposit by Friday 1, July, you can move in to your room starting 1 August 2022. You can find more details on housing selection and moving into the AUC student residences via the link below.

Confused about the housing procedure? No worries! AUC will host a webinar about housing and moving into the student residences on Tuesday, 24 May at 16.00 CEST. In this webinar, we will expand on the process of selecting your room, arriving on campus and give you the chance to ask any questions you may have. An overview of important information about your transition to being an AUC student can be found on our website. As you transition to student life, you will want to connect with other students starting at AUC who will be your future classmates and neighbours. For this reason, we’ve started WhatsApp groups to help you get to know each other!

Just so you know, there are two WhatsApp groups due to member capacity limits being less than the number of incoming students. You've been randomly sent a link to one of these groups.
You can also connect with current students by joining various Facebook groups, such as "The excellent and diverse people of AUC", and by following the AUC Student Association and Student Council on Instagram.

Each June, the AUC Student Association organises a music festival in and around the student residences. The programme includes live performances, food, drinks and fun activities. It's open to all AUC (incoming) students, staff and external guests. This includes you! You are invited to join the festival and get a sense for what student life is like before officially starting at AUC. More details will be available soon.

|
Amsterdam University College has its own Introduction Week which will take place from Monday, 29 August to Friday, 2 September. During this week, new students starting at AUC will participate in a mix of social and academic activities, become familiar with AUC policies and procedures, and receive guidance on the practicalities of to student life. This week will take place on campus and is mandatory to attend. A full programme will be shared in Augus.
