What we’re about

• Our main goal is to connect healthcare with data science

Medical data is abundant and may be used to benefit the health of future patients. This comes with significant technical, administrative, legal and organisational challenges. Most importantly, healthcare professionals and data scientists do not usually understand each other very well. Or worse, they may not even know each other at all.

We intend to change that to improve medical data science and patient care. Amsterdam Medical Data Science  is led by Dr. Paul Elbers (Amsterdam UMC) and Dr. Mark Hoogendoorn (VU University Amsterdam). Financial support is provided by Amsterdam UMC and VU University Amsterdam. Amsterdam Medical Data Science aims to represent healthcare professionals and data scientists interested in medical data science, in particular machine learning for medicine.

Meetups

Please join us if you like data, medicine or both. At every meeting we will discuss everything medical data science. This includes interesting projects, papers and the latest developments. This is where doctors meet data scientists and vice versa. It is a great opportunity to learn, meet like-minded health care professionals, researchers and data scientists, get feedback on your own projects and have some fun.
