63 Mauritskade 1092 AD Amsterdam NetherlandsDescription
Amsterdam University College will celebrate its 10th Dies Natalis on Friday, 27 September at the KIT Royal Tropical Institute in Amsterdam.
This year marks a milestone as AUC celebrates its 10th anniversary. This special Dies Natalis event will bring together students, alumni, staff and those involved in AUC, from both past and present, in honour of our second lustrum.
During the programme, we will reflect on achievements from AUC’s first generations, listen to the experiences of students and staff, and enjoy musical performances, videos and interactive elements. A keynote address will be delivered by Prof. Dr. Teun Dekker, the first Professor of Liberal Arts and Sciences Education in Europe, University College Maastricht. The evening will open with a celebratory drink and will conclude with a reception where guests will have a chance to meet and (re)connect with those who have been involved with AUC over the past 10 years.

Amsterdam University College (AUC) offers a liberal arts and sciences programme, leading to a joint Bachelor (Honours) degree from the University of Amsterdam and Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam. AUC is based on the American liberal arts and sciences model, with the students living and studying together on an international campus located in Amsterdam Science Park. The programme is entirely English-taught, small-scale and selective, with a maximum of 300 students admitted each year based on their academic performance and motivation.
Students major in the sciences, social sciences or humanities. Substantial emphasis is placed on the sciences, offering a thorough in-depth training in disciplinary sciences such as physics, biology, informatics, earth and environmental sciences and bio-medicine, but also requiring immersion in other fields of study. All AUC students undertake a community service project or an internship, and AUC offers a wide range of study abroad opportunities. For more information, visit the AUC website: www.auc.nl.
