Starting in February 2023, Sahib Singh joins ACIL as a visiting research fellow. His current research fields are twentieth century critical international legal and political theory. At ACIL Sahib will complete a project on negativity and international law in the field’s contemporary past. This inquires into how and why we ought to consider the relationships between international law and despair, as well between law and anxiety.

Sahib recently returned to academia, having previously researched and taught international law at Cambridge University, University of Helsinki and Tilburg University. He also practiced general international law at world-leading law firms, where Sahib also focused on international investment law, international law of the sea and dispute settlement. He has also worked for several human rights NGOs including Reprieve. Alongside his academic pursuits, Sahib writes and publishes poetry.
