The UvA Team was represented by Thomas Buge, Luca Dalla Giacoma, Milo Mistrangelo and Fleur de Wit. They are all students of the Master track European Competition Law and Regulation.
The world’s top competition law moot is organised by King’s College London. This year’s fictional case concerned a mobile-phone app-store, and written pleadings were submitted by 39 universities from all around the world. The UvA team was among the top twelve teams and was allowed to participate in the oral rounds on June 18 and 19, which was held online due to covid-19. Prevailing in both their matches on the first day, our students won their group. On the second day, the team was defeated narrowly in the quarter-finals by an eventual finalist.
We are all extremely proud of our performance. In addition to the many hours we have spent writing and practising, we have also had a lot of fun together. Altogether, a very memorable experience.Fleur de Wit
The team was coached by Jan Broulík (Assistant Professor in European Law) and Mia Monas (a former student of the master track).
