Abstract

This short essay is on the topic of equality of belligerents in the context of non-international armed conflict as a contribution to the theme of this volume on equality and inequality in international law. It is intended to act as a reflection on the extent to which the principle applies in non-international armed conflicts (NIAC) and in particular how the principle of belligerent equality should be seen in relation to the law on the use of force under international law and its relationship with domestic law.
