Professor Yvonne Donders is nominated by the Kingdom of the Netherlands to become a member of the UN Human Rights Committee. The Human Rights Committee monitors the implementation by States parties of the International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights. Members of the Committee are independent experts of recognized competence in human rights, serving in their personal capacity. They are nominated and elected for fixed, renewable terms of four years by State parties. The elections for the Human Rights Committee will take place in the summer of 2022.
