In her research, Sabine is particularly interested in examining the entrenched forms of cultural meaning underlying EU law. For this purpose, she integrates different accounts of political philosophy and cultural studies for the examination of various cases of the Court of Justice of the European Union. By recasting the jurisprudence of the court in this way, Sabine aims to better understand how the narratives about the EU polity can be expanded and diversified.

Sabine is a Marie Curie fellow at iCourts at the University of Copenhagen. Prior to joining the Amsterdam Law Faculty, she completed a PhD in Law at the European University Institute (Florence) as well as an LL.M in European Law at the College of Europe (Bruges). Sabine has, furthermore, completed an M.A. in political science at Ludwig-Maximilians-University Munich and has spent one year as graduate researcher at Princeton University. She previously worked at the Court of Justice of the European Union as legal clerk.
