The Holidays are over. We are going back to work, a new academic year has started! We are thrilled that the government decided to open up higher education and that we no longer need to take the 1,5 metres distance into account. We have all really been looking forward to this. After one and a half years of studying and working mostly online, we are so ready to see and meet each other.
Therefore, it was very special to welcome you, (first year) students in the AMC. The hubbub on the J square, the 'talkies street' outside, I enjoyed it all very much. It’s great to see each other in real life again. Let’s hope it stays this way. If we all adhere to the rules and regulations, we will probably not have to return to online education. So take care and look out for each other!

| Kletsstraat en infomarkt voor eerstejaars studenten |

Het nieuwe jaar is begonnen.
Gisteren zijn de kersverse eerstejaars studenten verwelkomd met een introductie-event. Een lekker drankje in de Kletsstraat, TBL-quiz, Q&A met de hoofden van de opleiding, een informatiemarkt en veel drukte en gezelligheid. En meteen daarna het eerste echte college.

| Een initiatief van de MFAS, de eerstejaars dummy. Stiekem ook best handig voor anderen! Hierin staat (bijna) alles wat je weten wil. |

En voor de eerstejaars is ook een Introductiepagina ontwikkeld. Dit jaar dus geen grootse Introductiemarkt, maar nuttige en brede informatie compact bij elkaar, online.

Message from the library |

|
It has been far too quiet in the Medical library, how nice that you can come again! As we are not yet rid of Corona, we have temporarily adjusted the exit: The entrance is via the J square and the exit is on the other side. In the library there are 25 workspaces ready for you in the Digitorium, in the whisper area 20 and in the working-together zone another 75. Downstairs is meant for taking online classes for the time being. Please wear a facemask when moving around the library, once seated this is not necessary.

Curriculum books will not be in the bookcase, but can be loaned for the day from the front office. Please return the books by 17:30. Good luck!

| International Office update |
|
| Nikki from the International office explains what the international office can do for you if you want to go abroad to study or do an elective. You can choose between tow video’s: short (1 minute) of long (3 minutes). |

The first couple of students wanting to go abroad for an elective have already stopped by the International office and we are very happy about this. |

U21: On September 1st 42 international students started their team challenge ‘How to vaccinate the world’.
As part of a consultation with the health professionals of the future, students have been asked by the World Health Organisation (WHO) Strategic Advisory Group of Experts (SAGE) on Immunisation to help prepare for the next viral pandemic by formulating evidence-based recommendations for improving the take up of vaccines by the general population.
